Leila Janah is the founder and CEO of Samasource. She serves on the boards of CARE, OneLeap and TechSoup Global and as an advisor to mobile shopping app RevelTouch.
Prior to Samasource, Janah was a a Visiting Scholar with the Stanford Program on Global Justice and Australian National University’s Center for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics. She was a founding Director of Incentives for Global Health, an initiative to increase R&D spending on diseases of the poor, and a management consultant at Katzenbach Partners (now Booz & Co.). She has also worked at the World Bank and as a travel writer for Let’s Go in Mozambique, Brazil, and Borneo.
She is the recipient of a 2011 World Technology Award and a 2012 TechFellow Award. She received a BA from Harvard.
Founder & CEO
Victor brings more than two decades of sales management experience in communications, hardware, and software sales environments with proven success in building high performance sales organizations at start-ups and turnaround companies, which has resulted in four acquisitions.
Prior to Samasource, Victor served as senior vice president of sales at data center infrastructure and energy management software platform company Power Assure. Previous to Power Assure, he served as vice president of sales at Evault, which delivered storage software, software as a service (SaaS), disaster recovery, and email compliance services. Seagate acquired Evault in January 2007. Victor’s track record for growing sales and increasing customer retention also encompasses his senior level positions at Axcient, MFN, NorthPoint, WinStar, and Allnet.
He holds a B.S. in Finance from CSUC.
Jen is responsible for leading Samasource’s efforts and expansion in East Africa. Prior to Samasource, Jen was Vice President, Head of India Research Operations at Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), where she led their global research operations center in Gurgaon, India. Earlier at GLG, she managed GLG’s panel of real estate experts in the Americas, significantly expanding its size and coverage.
Before GLG, she evaluated and managed technology solutions, projects and partnerships for the franchise headquarters of Keller Williams Realty International in Austin, Texas. Jen’s more than 17 years of experience also include various roles at organizations including: EDS (now HP), A.T. Kearney and Lante Corporation (now Razorfish).
Managing Director, East Africa
Tess is responsible for leading SamaUSA, Samasource’s US-based program that helps low-income community college students find and succeed in online work.
Prior to Samasource, Tess was Assistant Director of Employment and Education at First Place for Youth, where she led their education and employment programs in four bay area counties. Before First Place, she managed education programs in underserved public schools in New York City. Her expertise lies in creating impactful and innovative workforce development programs that focus on empowerment and tangible outcomes for participants. Tess is passionate about how education and work can transform individuals and communities.
Tess holds her masters in social work from Columbia University, where she focused on Social Enterprise Administration.
Managing Director, SamaUSA
Tony is the CFO at Samasource and provides oversight of the organizations finance and operations functions.
Prior to Samasource, Tony led finance for several business units at Oracle and later supported senior executives in finance and sales operations at the global level. Prior to Oracle he served in FP&A roles at Levi Strauss & Company, explored the world as an international auditor for Bata Shoe Company and provided financial consulting services for Bay Area technology companies. He started his career at Ernst & Young in Toronto and later Vancouver, Canada.
Although Tony was born in San Francisco, he was raised in Winnipeg, Canada and holds a B.Comm from Queen’s University and a CPA (CA) designation from Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
Chief Financial Officer
Lindsey provides strategic and programmatic oversight to Samasource’s finance and operations functions.
Prior to Samasource, Lindsey worked for the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Zambia serving as the Deputy Country Director and Senior Program Manager for the Human Resources for Health program. In this capacity she worked with the government to execute national strategies aimed at increasing the public’s access to health services. Before joining the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Lindsey spent four years in private equity and investment banking.
Lindsey has provided strategic support to a variety of social enterprises ranging from rural community health to higher education. Lindsey holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. degree in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University.
Director, Finance & Operations
Meghan is responsible for managing client projects on the Professional Services Team.
Prior to joining Samasource, Meghan worked in online marketing and data analysis as a Media Web Producer for Quinstreet. She developed her passion for International Development and Economics as an undergraduate at Santa Clara University, and had the unique opportunity to work in non-profit management through several internships in South Africa, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia.
Meghan holds a B.S. in Economics and a B.S.C. in Marketing from Santa Clara University.
Manager of Professional Services
Kate is known for delivering resourceful, impactful solutions and programs that are grounded in strategy and stand the test of time. Her work continues to influence models for development in the former Yugoslavia, Albania, the Middle East, and the former Soviet Union.
In her most recent role as Chief Development, Communication and Innovation Officer for Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, Kate led the design and development of a city-wide coalition that won a $5M National Demonstration model for Workforce Development. Kate secured this award through negotiations that won the support of city officials, service providers, agency leaders, and community representatives attracted to her model of addressing the principle threats to dignity for the unemployed. At the time of its implementation, it was one of only sixteen demonstration models nationwide.
In addition to her work with the largest social enterprise in the SF Bay Area, Kate was also the lead architect of ground breaking post- complex emergency programming in the areas of trauma recovery, parent school partnerships, micro lending and “right to return” programs to assist refugees displaced by regional conflict.
Kate earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s Degree from George Mason University. She has represented her teams and organizations on national and international television and radio, as well as conferences and panel discussions such as the PEW Foundation, Harvard University’s “Do No Harm”, and the King Baudouin Foundation. Raised in Massachusetts, Kate now resides with her daughter in the San Francisco Bay Area.
VP, Partnerships & Development
Leila Toplic is responsible for leading marketing for Samasource, SamaUSA and Samahope. Prior to Samasource, Leila spent over 13 years leading marketing communications strategy and programs at two of the Fortune 500 companies – Microsoft and Adobe. During her tenure at Microsoft, Leila made significant contributions to the company across global advertising and go-to-market campaigns, PR and events, retail, executive and internal communications, and business management.
While at Microsoft, Leila also worked on some of their key partnerships in the citizenship space, including managing NetHope partnership and working with UNHCR in Geneva on their brand and communications strategy.
Leila’s passion for social causes, including education, refugees and women, is rooted in her life experience as a refugee from Bosnia and has manifested itself in a number of ways since Leila and her family fled Bosnia in the mid-90’s. This included teaching English and Art at the Bosnian Refugee School in Nagyatad Refugee Camp, founding the first student chapters of UNHRC and UNIFEM while studying at Wellesley College, and serving on the Board of Directors of USA for UNIFEM.
Leila majored in Peace & Justice Studies and Media Arts & Sciences (MAS) at Wellesley College, with coursework in MAS completed at the MIT Media Lab.
As Senior Manager, Impact, Goldie leads the collection of our data and its strategic application. Since joining the team in 2012, Goldie has managed the design and implementation of our M&E (monitoring and evaluation) system, including online surveys, household surveys, skills assessments, and real-time work platform data. Goldie works regularly with an international team of software engineers and program staff to gather data and insights about our workers’ experiences. This practice drives many of Samasource’s strategic business decisions, enabling the organization to better define its competencies and maximize its impact. Goldie also works closely with our development team to determine and deliver on grant-specific impact indicators and milestones.
Goldie works to build processes that deliver actionable insights from messy, complex data. Her previous experience ranges from on-the-ground quantitative research method implementation (while conducting field research in Tamil Nadu, India) to pricing model development (at General Mills) to procurement strategy optimization (at Nestle).
Goldie grew up in Tokyo, Taipei, and Singapore. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a M.A. in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco.
Senior Manager, Impact
As an Impact Analyst, Twisha primarily works on analyzing the social impact of Samasource’s business model. She coordinates the implementation of the Samasource monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system. A large part of her work involves developing, refining and analyzing our quantitative and qualitative data collection tools. Drawing upon her field experiences in Indonesia and India, Twisha utilizes innovative methods to connect the human element to our numbers. With a passion for data analysis and visual data communication, Twisha also works closely with the marketing and development teams to communicate our social impact to donors and stakeholders.
Prior to joining Samasource, Twisha has a background working for international development nonprofits. She has lived and worked in New York City, Mumbai, and Delhi. Twisha comes to Samasource with over 3 years of experience working on project evaluations and program implementation with organizations including the United Nations, Kopernik and Indicorps.
She holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Rutgers College and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Columbia University. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, exploring cities and attempting DIY Pinterest craft projects.
Jason brings over 12 years of experience in building and delivering technology solutions. Before joining Samasource, Jason worked for companies such as RiskMetrics Group (and MSCI), University of Michigan Health System and Dell. He has worked on projects ranging from the translation of mainframe docs into PDF and/or HTML to an organ transplant information system as well as in-house tools to multi-tenant web service applications.
Professionally, his passion lies in using his skills to ease the burdens that life places on us daily and teaching others about programming. Jason earned a B.A. in Vocal Music Performance from Old Dominion University.
Outside of work, Jason loves studying the Bible, rock climbing, tinkering, and homeschooling his four kids. He still enjoys singing Gospel, German lieder and Italian art songs as well as duets with his wife.
Senior Software Engineer
John has been working in web development for 12 years throughout the UK and Australia.
Before taking his position at Samasource, he spent four years working in 15 countries across the developing world. The experience fostered his curiosity in international development and the means through which technology can help underprivileged communities.
John earned a BA in Philosophy from the University of Queensland, Australia, specialising in Logic and Ethics.
Prior to joining Samasource, Johnathan spent four years working with a variety of web technologies for an online marketing provider for real estate agents.
In addition to his software development experience, he has a passion for the developing world that began with a two month trip to Nicaragua in 2008. Since then, he has traveled regularly to Managua, Nicaragua to volunteer for an NGO that runs a children’s home for girls from a community located at the municipal garbage dump.
Johnathan holds a B.A. in Computer Science from UC Berkeley (with a minor in Spanish Linguistics) as well as an A.S. in Aviation Science.
Matt is the Quality Assurance Engineer for Samasource’s SamaHub platform, working to ensure that new features are free of defects and, most importantly, intuitive to use when they are deployed. He is excited to be working as a part of a team that thinks outside the box when it comes to making a positive impact on the world.
Prior to coming to Samasource, Matt worked as an electrical engineer in the utility industry for 5 years.
When he’s not as his desk, chances are you will find Matt making one of his samafamous sandwiches or brewing up a fresh cup of coffee in the kitchen.
Quality Assurance Engineer
As Sales Engineer, Nick is responsible for managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. He acts as a key technical advisor and product advocate both internally and to our clients. In addition, he develops strategic recommendations for the management team.
Nick started his career at Nexus Engineering, a nuclear engineering consulting firm outside Chicago, where he co-founded Nexus’ disaster response division. He was also a researcher and team lead at NASA, where he led a team of engineers on a specialized microgravity plane (“Vomit Comet”), as part of NASA’s Zero-G SEED program.
Nick has become an avid hiker (easy to do in California!) and loves that he can ride his bike to work every day. He deeply appreciates a good debate, often on current events. Nick graduated from Purdue University with a BSE in Mechanical Engineering, a BS in Applied Physics, and a Minor in Mathematics.
Celie brings over six years of sales and development experience to Samasource.
Prior to Samasource, Celie worked for Boston Magazine and Where Magazine, developing sales and marketing partnerships with national and local entrepreneurial clients. Her primary responsibilities were advertising sales, marketing events and community outreach. While at Where Magazine she was elected to the Board of the Newbury Street League, a prestigious non-profit business association devoted to the development of the downtown Boston area. Previous to these media roles, Celie worked as a Senior Sales Consultant at Smithsonian Student Travel at EF Education First, an internationally recognized student tours company.
Celie is a passionate traveler, inquisitive cook and a devoted film enthusiast. Celie graduated summa cum laude from Dickinson College with a BA in English and Creative Writing.
Director of Business Development
Karolina comes from a background in Telecommunications and Cloud Services sales at Cbeyond, where she excelled as a National Sales Leader.
Prior to coming to Samasource, Karolina first spent time working abroad as an assistant English teacher in Japan through the JET program. Upon returning from Japan she taught English as a Second Language at Mission College in Santa Clara for several years before discovering that the same enthusiasm for meeting new people, understanding others’ perspectives, and presenting and explaining new information translated very well to a career in sales. She is excited to bring her excitement and drive to succeed to Samasource’s Social Business model.
Karolina studied at UC Santa Cruz on a Regent’s Scholarship, and graduated with Highest Honors in Philosophy. She holds an MA from San Jose State in TESOL. In her spare time she enjoys Samba and Capoeira.
Director of National Accounts
As a national sales manager, Ashley is responsible for bringing in new business as well as servicing existing clients and relationships. Ashley comes from a background in advertising and information services sales.
Prior to Samasource, Ashley rapidly promoted through the sales ranks at past organizations. As a sales professional, Ashley’s best known for her relationship building, work ethic, and dedication to finding the best solution for her clients. She is excited to bring her experience and passion to expand Samasource’s reach!
Previous to Technology sales in San Francisco, Ashley worked in Spain and in Chile, working in sales, marketing and teaching English. Ashley studied international trade and Spanish. She holds two BA degrees and a MA in Foreign Language and Literature, Spanish from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
National Sales Manager
Humphrey is Samasource’s Field Manager and works directly with our Delivery Centers in East Africa, India, Ghana and Haiti. Prior to joining Samasource, Humphrey was Business Development Manager, East Africa with Ison BPO, a leading BPO in Africa.
He has over 10 years of experience in business development, operations and project management, quality assurance, business analytics and customer service management in the telecommunications, financial and BPO (Spanco BPO, Aegis BPO and Horizon Contact Centers Limited) sectors including work in start ups, transitions and management.
Humphrey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics/ Computer Science.
Arnaud is responsible for managing the Internet Now project, a collaborative effort to create digital employment in Northern Uganda.
Prior to Samasource, Arnaud was involved with the non-governmental organization, AIESEC, in France and in Puerto Rico, where he was responsible for local committee development. Arnaud has additional experience with technology start-ups in France, China and Panama for international consulting companies including KPMG and CSC in various roles including PMO, project coordinator and consultant.
He holds a M.Sc IT from Telecom et Management SudParis.
Program Manager, Latin America
Andrew is responsible for managing client projects on the Professional Services Team.
Before Samasource, Andrew worked as a business intelligence manager for an e-commerce company in South Africa, and co-founded an international IT outsourcing company. Andrew has also served as a Kiva.org fellow at BRAC Uganda, and is passionate about leveraging technology for social impact.
Andrew holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Princeton University.
Emily is responsible for managing client projects on the Professional Services Team.
Prior to joining Samasource, Emily worked at The Beacon Group as a strategy consultant across a range of sectors and as an international program associate with the American Indian Law Alliance, an Indigenous NGO in Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council.
Emily holds an MA in Social Science from the University of Chicago and a BA in Anthropology from Colby College.
Greg Bennett joins us with years of international experience across several industries. In 2010, following a short stint interning in Washington, D.C. and Chicago, Greg relocated to Jordan to work in international education and human rights. While working for the Amman Center for Human Rights Studies, he wrote grant proposals and co-authored a paper on Bedouin political rights in Israel and Jordan. In 2012, Greg returned to the United States to consult for World Book Inc. in their International Products division, working on projects supplying affordable education software to Indian primary schools.
In 2013, Greg worked as a project consultant for FINCA International, writing the code for their client assessment survey on Android devices. He then accepted the IDEX Fellowship in Social Enterprise, which placed him at Unitus Capital in Bangalore, India. He worked closely with their team on several equity transactions, social business valuations, and deal sourcing in India and Indonesia. As part of his Fellowship, he was also a pro-bono consultant for Milaap Social Ventures, a crowdsourced micro-lending website, and Kamal Kisan, an agricultural products startup.
Greg has a B.A. in International Political Economy from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Ecommerce Project Manager
James manages Communication Design for Samasource. He is responsible for creating all donor and client facing visual communications.
Prior to joining Samasource, James studied at Texas Tech University where he received a B.F.A. in Communication Design. Through a close friend, he has been exposed to effective non-profit work for several years. He strongly believes that design can serve as a vehicle for change and awareness of social issues.
In his spare time, James loves to read, play guitar, and annoy friends with snarky comments about typography.
As Content Writer, Joseph Jon Lanthier helps to craft the language of the ongoing Samasource story. Aside from managing the official Samasource blog, Jon works closely with our development and impact teams on messaging strategies in a variety of contexts, including grants, fundraising materials, and promotional collateral.
Jon earned a degree in English Literature from UC Berkeley, and has nearly a decade of experience managing successful communications projects in retail, public service, and global development. Past clients, employers, and collaborators include VeriSign, MINI Cooper, the Automobile Association of America, the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and buildOn.
Jon additionally enjoys a side career as a film critic for journals such as Slant Magazine, MUBI, and Documentary Magazine. He devotes the very spare remainder of his time to jazz scholarship, experimental vegan baking, and novelty song composing.
Hannah, who joined Samasource in September 2013, helps manage our partnerships with foundations, corporations, and other institutions.
Prior to Samasource, Hannah received a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Claremont McKenna College, where she graduated as a Robert Day Scholar. During undergrad, she lived in Seoul, South Korea for two summers: first studying Korea’s development success story, and then as an intern for Standard Chartered Korea’s Strategy Team. She also spent time in Buenos Aires researching aspects of regional development and social change in South America’s Southern Cone.
She is passionate about women’s economic empowerment in the developing world and believes technology will be a game changer in this sphere. Whenever possible, Hannah loves to travel, read, and try new foods.
Development Associate, Institutional Partnerships
As the Development Coordinator, Alex draws on his experience in fundraising, donor relations, and information management systems to provide insight and support for Samasource’s development strategy. Prior to joining Samasource, Alex worked in Mumbai with Educate Girls, an Indian NGO that targets out of school girls. At Educate Girls, Alex spearheaded the organization’s fundraising strategy and capacity building efforts and contributed to the design and negotiations around India’s first Social Impact Bond in the education space.
Alex has worked with NGOs and the private sector inside and outside the U.S. and was on the ground in Cairo, Egypt during the 2011 revolution. His experience includes stints at a number of Washington, DC-based think-tanks where he focused on foreign policy, democracy and human rights, and on a major advocacy campaign related to health research and the federal budget. Alex is an LGT Venture Philanthropy Fellow and graduated from Beloit College with a degree in International Relations. He speaks Arabic, French, and Hindi.
Andrea supports operational functions across the organization. She provides facilities management for our headquarter office and administrative support to each Sama entity.
Before joining the Sama family, Andrea worked in the state capital coordinating a joint project of the California Teacher’s Association and the California Endowment to facilitate student and family enrollment in health coverage. Prior to that Andrea worked as operations and account manager for a premier property management firm in the Bay Area.
Andrea is passionate about improving the lives of all people and thrilled to work in support of the Sama teams. Andrea is a runner, healthy food eater, tea drinker, and witty email writer.
Andrea holds a BS in business administration from San Francisco State University.
Martin joins Samasource as a Senior Field Project Manager and he works to ensure both quality and timely implementation of projects.
Prior to joining Samasource he started and led the Analytics team at Horizon Contact Centers; the function of this unit was Performance & Insights in operations, business development and value additions. Before that he worked at ILRI, a CGIAR center, where he was responsible for managing research projects and programs across East, West & Southern Africa and South East Asia. He was also part of the setup team of Kencall (1st Contact center in Kenya) and there he worked in MIS and later started the business analysts unit.
Martin holds a BSc in Biochemistry, International Project Management diploma and is concluding an MBA in International Business management.
Senior Field Project Manager
Carolyne joins Samasource as a Field Project Manager. She is responsible for managing projects in the field to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
She comes with over seven years of rich experience in the non-profit, corporate and business process outsourcing (BPO) sectors. Most recently, Carolyne was a trainer at the African Centre for Women, Information and Communications Technology (ACWICT) in a youth employability program, where she trained over 600 women from marginalized backgrounds. Prior to ACWICT, Carolyne worked in the corporate sector including at Barclays Bank.
Carolyne started her career at Kencall, one of Kenya’s largest BPOs as a sales representative, and later, a team supervisor.
Field Project Manager
Harriet joins Samasource as a Field Project Manager. She is responsible for managing Delivery centre relationships in the field and managing projects to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
Harriet joins us from Alliance Technologies Solutions, where she served in both a project management and business consulting capacity, and was responsible for scoping , delivery and implementation of solutions on ERP projects for Kenyan government defense forces, the revenue authority and the ministry of health. Prior to Alliance Technologies,Harriet worked in a business consultancy role MicroLan Kenya ltd implementing Micro Business ERP Projects.
Harriet holds a Bachelor of science Degree in information technology from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology and a Diploma in Project management from Kenya Institute of management.
Field Project Manager
Vanessa is responsible for managing projects with Samasource Delivery Centers to ensure timely and high quality project results.
Prior to joining Samasource, Vanessa worked as a Project Manager for Ringier Kenya’s eCommerce platform, where her primary responsibilities included delivering Rupu Kenya’s KPI’s in terms of revenue, marketing, customer and merchant acquisitions and retention. She also worked as a Database Administrator at Oriak Digital.
Vanessa holds a B.A in International Relations from the United States International University.
Field Project Manager
Surabhi comes with 10 years of experience in the BPO sector and was previously a Training Manager at GE Money Services. Apart from building strategies on Training, Surabhi also has 6 years of volunteer experience working with students in rural India in the field of education.
She is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified and is responsible for driving process improvements in the quality team.
Senior Quality & Training Manager
Shweta comes with a total experience of seven years in varied roles, having worked with organizations like IBM, First Advantage and NetApp.
She holds a Master’s degree in Commerce and was last employed with NetApp where she was in charge of Infrastructure and Security Operations for their Bangalore site along with managing the internal and SOX audits for APAC.
Senior Training & Quality Assurance Analyst
Xenia started her career in Genpact as Accounts Receivable for GE Plastics. She moved on later to the Training and Quality Team, and later joined the Human resource team.
Post Genpact, she worked with Organisations such as Satyam BPO, Manpower Professionals and then moved into Domestic Telecom Business with companies such as Spanco and Aditya Birla Minacs to manage the entire recruitment for the site. Overall she has 9 years of experience, the majority with HR. She has a Masters in Clinical Psychology.
Xenia loves reading and listening to music.
Training & Quality Assurance Analyst
Renuka joins the team with an overall experience of 8 years in training in the BPO sector which began at GE Capital.
She has also worked with HCLBPO playing a key role in the transition of the pilot process of a US based client and ramping up of the process. In her last assignment as Training Manager for TATA AIG Life Insurance Co. Ltd. in the Direct Marketing Channel, she headed the Training team for South India for the Channel. With more than 10 vendor BPO to support, she played a key role in ensuring all the telecallers were IRDA certified and all rules of the regulator were adhered to while supporting sales team in improving productivity multifold.
She is a trained dancer in Kuchipudi, a traditional classical dance form of India and enjoys teaching the same to children.
Training & Quality Assurance Analyst
Myrtle comes with a work experience of 10 years from ITES industry and been with Genpact in the Operations and the Learning and Development Team. She has worked with various GE business such as GE Appliances, GE Aviation and GE Industrial Systems before joining the Training & Development Team.
Her last role was Manager of Training, primarily focusing on setting up the Training and Development for newly transitioned GE Businesses. She is a certified Super Trainer for Communication Skills from Genpact as well as Personality Development Trainer. She is a Business Management graduate and enjoys cooking and baking.
Training & Quality Assurance Analyst

She was a founding Director of Incentives for Global Health, an initiative to increase R&D spending on diseases of the poor, and a management consultant at Katzenbach Partners (now Booz & Co.). She has also worked at the World Bank and as a travel writer for Let’s Go in Mozambique, Brazil, and Borneo.
She is the recipient of a 2011 World Technology Award and a 2012 TechFellow Award. She received a BA from Harvard.

Dan Benton earned the reputation as one of the leading technology industry investors of his generation. He has been the CEO of Andor Capital Management since starting the company in 2001. Mr. Benton was President of Pequot Capital Management from 1999-2001. There he managed the firm’s public market technology funds and staff. He joined Dawson Samberg Capital Management (Pequot’s predecessor company) in 1993 as a technology analyst and portfolio manager. From 1993-2001, hedge fund assets increased from $300m to $15b. Dan worked as a securities analyst in the Investment Research department at Goldman Sachs from 1984-1993. He was the top-ranked PC industry analyst on Wall Street from 1988-1993.
Recently, Dan joined the boards of two not-for-profit organizations where inspirational founders utilize technology to change the world. Khan Academy’s mission is to provide a free world-class education for anyone anywhere. Samasource is an innovative social business that connects women and youth living in poverty to dignified work via the Internet. Since 2001, Dan has been a trustee of Colgate University. He chairs the Faculty and Academic Affairs Committee. The Benton Scholars program at Colgate seeks to prepare a new generation of leaders for the challenges posed by globalization and technology. Colgate awarded a Doctorate of Humane Letters to Mr. Benton in 2010. Dan is a trustee at Horace Mann School and The Hospital for Special Surgery. Mr. Benton and his partners created the Andor Capital Management Foundation in the aftermath of 9/11. Dedicated to aiding the survivors of the tragedy, the foundation’s mandate broadened to include helping members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. The ACMF also assists with the educational and health needs of the underprivileged.
Mr. Benton received his M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1984. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colgate University in 1980 with a B.A. in Mathematics.

Olana Khan serves as the Chief Operating Officer at ProFounder. Prior to this, Olana was the COO at Kiva. A 6-year Google veteran, she oversaw the International Sales Professional Services team and developed deep expertise in scaling teams and operations in rapidly changing environments.
Prior to Google, Ms. Khan worked at The Economist, Netscape and AOL. She co-founded OZ Ventures. She has extensive volunteer experience in Thailand, focused on developing educational forums around women’s health and AIDS prevention.
Ms. Khan graduated from the University of Michigan Honors Program with a B.A. degrees in Asian Economics and Psychology.

Lloyd Taylor is an independent adviser, consultant, and investor who specializes in helping companies scale successfully.
His professional work has included scaling LinkedIn’s infrastructure to support its rapid growth; developing, implementing and operating an infinitely scalable global physical infrastructure for Google’s server farms; building out a worldwide performance measurement infrastructure for Keynote Systems; and developing one of the first managed hosting architectures while at Digex.
His pro bono work includes funding and advising a select group of non-profits working on zero-dependency methods for ending poverty throughout the world.
